Refund Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
This Refund Policy sets out the terms on which The English Manner ("we", "us", "our") accepts cancellations and issues refunds for courses, masterclasses, coaching sessions and other services purchased through semblmothe.com. It is drafted in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This Policy forms part of our Terms and Conditions.
1. Your statutory right of cancellation (14-day cooling-off period)
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom and you book a course through this Website, you have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 calendar days from the day after your booking is confirmed, without giving any reason and without incurring any penalty (the "cooling-off period").
This right does not apply where:
- the course has already started, taken place or been fully performed with your prior express consent within the cooling-off period; or
- the service is bespoke, tailored or personalised (for example, private in-house or one-to-one coaching that has already commenced with your consent).
To exercise your right of cancellation, please email [email protected] with your booking reference and a clear statement of your decision to cancel.
2. Cancellation charges outside the cooling-off period
Where the cooling-off period does not apply, or has expired, the following charges apply if you cancel your place on a scheduled open course or masterclass:
- More than 28 calendar days before the course start date — full refund, less an administration fee of £25 + VAT.
- Between 15 and 28 calendar days before the course start date — 50% refund of the course fee.
- 14 calendar days or fewer before the course start date, or non-attendance on the day — no refund is due. You may transfer your place to another named delegate at no extra charge, or defer your place to a later scheduled cohort (subject to availability) up to 7 calendar days before the course start date.
3. Cancellation by us
If we are unable to run a scheduled course for any reason — including insufficient enrolment, tutor illness or events beyond our reasonable control — we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer you the choice of:
- a transfer to the next available cohort at no additional cost; or
- a full refund of the course fee paid.
We are not liable for any travel, accommodation or other consequential costs you may have incurred.
4. Services that do not conform
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you are entitled to services performed with reasonable care and skill. If any service we provide does not meet that standard, please contact us within a reasonable period so we can put the matter right. Where a service is not brought into conformity within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a partial or full refund proportionate to the shortfall.
5. Digital and downloadable content
For digital content or downloadable materials, the 14-day cooling-off period ends as soon as you begin downloading or streaming the content, provided you have expressly consented to this and acknowledged that your right of cancellation will be lost. This will always be made clear at the point of purchase.
6. How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are made using the same payment method used for the original booking, unless you agree otherwise. Refunds are normally processed within 14 calendar days of the refund being agreed.
7. How to contact us about a refund
All refund requests, cancellations and complaints should be sent in writing to:

8. Your other legal rights
